Lemosho Route is the route where by groups may be accompanied on the first day by an armed ranger, as the forests around the Lemosho Glades are inhabited by Buffalo, Elephant and other wildlife. It takes the duration of six to nine days depending your fitness.
Day One – Welcome.
We will meet you upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we will then transport you to your overnight accommodation at “Mrefu Farm Lodge” This is approximately 70kms about an hour’s drive from the airport, the lodge is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, here we will check in, have dinner and spend the night.
Day Two – Lemosho to Forest Camp.
After breakfast will meet with the porters and the guides and then we will be transported to the “Londorosi Gate” for registration and then to Lemosho starting point glades 2100m 6890ft we will then start to hike to Mount Mkubwa Forest Camp 2250m 7381ft. Upon arrival there we will have our meal and spend the night.
Day Three – Forest Camp To Shira Camp.
Descending a short distance to Shira 1 camp on the Shira plateau 3500m 11482ft walking for 5 to 6 hours covering a distance of 8km on arrival we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day Four – Shira 1 to Shira 11.
After breakfast we will continue to walk across the Shira plateau to Shira 11 Camp site 3850m 12631ft this is the place where Machame route and Lemosho route join together on arrival we will have dinner and spend the night. Day Five – Shira 11 to Lava Tower Camp We will be walking across mainly Moorland and Alpine Desert today heading towards the Lava Tower camp. This is almost at an altitude of 4600m 15091ft here we will take dinner and spend the night here.
Day Six – Lava Tower Camp to Arrow Glacier Camp.
After breakfast we will ascend to Arrow Glacier Camp this is at almost 4800m 15748ft here we wil have dinner and overnight.
Day Seven – Clients continue to cross the western breach into the crater camping site. It is 5700m 18700ft explore the crater, followed by dinner and overnight camping.
Day Eight – The clients and guides will go to conquer the Uhuru peak 5895m 19340ftand then descend to Barafu station then moving to High camp station for meals and overnight camping.
Day Nine – Descending continues from High camp station to Mweka Gate where the company vehicles will then transfer you to Mrefu Mountain Lodge for hot shower and rest. Meals and overnight.
Day Ten – Here you can choose to turn back to your home place or you may wish to suggest another tour, maybe like doing a cultural tour, visiting a National parks or travel onto Zanzibar for coastal and marine tourism with accompany by natures gift safaris.
