Climbing Kilimanjaro may well be one of the hardest but also one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, but here at Natures gift safaris we care passionately about not only your holiday but also about you, we want you to take home with you those found cherished memories of your stay here in Tanzania so below we have just written a few considerations for you, that we feel, may well make your stay a more pleasurable one.
Several itinerary’s and routes are available for you to choose from, just click on the links, but in choosing them please consider the following, how much time do you have? What experience do you have at altitude? What is your level of physical fitness?
The more time you have, the more acclimatised you will be and the better you will feel during your assent up the mountain.
If you have some experience at high altitude and you are a strong hiker then you may want to choose one of the shorter routes spread over fewer days, if however you are new to climbing or trekking, then taking one of the longer routes and spreading it over several days may well be the best option for you.
If you have no or little experience at altitude and climbing, then we would suggest that you add a couple of days at the beginning of your climbing holiday to get acclimatised and stay with us here at “Mrefu Farm House Lodge” (1,500m altitude) located at the base of Kilimanjaro and only ten minutes from Marangu Gate, this will help to make your body acclimatise to higher altitudes before you climb and significantly improve your chances of summiting.
